Leading high street retailer John Lewis has partnered with St Peter’s Hospice, the Bristol based charity caring for adults with life-limiting illnesses, to launch its first ever in-store pop up for premium preloved ladieswear at their flagship Cribbs Causeway store from 12 to 29 March.
The pop up will be fundraising for St Peter’s Hospice, which aims to improve the quality of living and dying of adults with life-limiting illnesses, while extending care and support to families and loved ones. All the care provided by the charity is free of charge, but costs approximately £21,000 a day to deliver.
In celebration of the Year of the Nurse, the store will also be hosting an exclusive event for St Peter’s Hospice nurses. They will be invited to an evening of pampering, prosecco, spoiling and styling with visits to the Nail House and the Beauty Houses in the store. Supporters of St Peter’s Hospice will also be treated to a VIP evening, including a fashion show, pampering and prosecco.
Nisyst, supplier of charity retail EPoS software, is also supporting the event, providing electronic point of sale (EPoS) hardware and software so that the charity can benefit from gift aid on every item of clothing sold at the pop-up event.
St Peter’s Hospice Head of Retail, John Broomhead, said: “This is an exciting partnership for both St Peter’s Hospice and John Lewis. As one of the UK’s largest regional charity retailers, the St Peter’s retail team are always looking for new opportunities and partnerships to further embed ourselves in the communities of Bristol. With John Lewis support we will really be able to do this with the opening of our pop-up shop on 12 March.
“We would also like to thank our business partners from Nisyst for their considerable support with the till system and shop fittings. Without them this exciting venture wouldn’t be able to happen. We look forward to meeting new and existing customers in John Lewis and then inviting you all to come and see us at one of our fantastic 51 charity stores across Bristol.”
Alan Andrews, Partner and Community Liaison Co-ordinator at John Lewis, said: “At John Lewis and Partners Cribbs Causeway, we are passionate about being involved in our local community. We’ve strong connections with many local charities but are particularly excited about our collaboration with St Peter’s Hospice because many of our customers and Partners have been touched by their outstanding work.”
Dave Chunilal, Technical Director at Nisyst, commented: “We’re delighted to support this exclusive event, allowing John Lewis customers to browse and buy premium pre-loved Ladieswear, while at the same time, supporting the incredible work of this Bristol based charity. The technology we provide means that shoppers can ensure gift aid can be claimed on every single item sold.”
The pop-up shop will be located in Ladieswear at the John Lewis Cribbs Causeway store from Thursday 12 March through to Sunday 29 March.
