Emma Davies, Senior Account Manager with independent PR and Marketing agency Volpa, has been awarded ‘Accredited Practitioner’ status by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), the communication industry’s leading professional body in the UK.
The ‘accredited practitioner’ status is a hallmark of commitment to public relations’ professional excellence and is awarded to those who have shown clear evidence of keeping professional skills and knowledge up to date through the CIPR’s continuing professional development (CPD) programme.
Emma, who joined Volpa in 2019, after running her own consultancy, completed 120 hours of CPD (continuing professional development) to attain the achievement. This included speaking at a PR & News event for the Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce and participating in a range of training courses run by the PRCA and CIPR aimed at further developing her skillset and self-directed learning.
Emma, who is currently furloughed due to the coronavirus, has been putting the lockdown learning time to good use, participating in a series of development opportunities that have been provided to members by both the CIPR and PRCA.
Emma commented: “It is fantastic to be formally recognised as an accredited practitioner by the UK’s leading public relations professional body and a great way to be rewarded for all the hours spent on my CPD. Being furloughed has been challenging and I’ve really missed the day to day interaction with both clients and the media. However, I have been kept very busy with a pre-schooler to look after and two other children to home-school. I am very grateful for the additional learning opportunities provided by Volpa and the CIPR to their members, ensuring I stay fully up to date with the latest industry knowledge and can further develop my skills. I can’t wait to get back to work when the time is right but, in the meantime, I’m clocking up plenty of CPD.”
Volpa is a full-service PR & marketing agency based in Perth. The agency has received a raft of awards over the years including the Silver Award for Outstanding Small Consultancy at the CIPR Pride Scotland awards two years running.
