Cunningly Good Coverage

From forests to the Fringe Festival, August was a big month for Volpa. Here’s all our highlights from this month!

An American Abroad

A couple of months back, Volpa found out that they’d be taking on their first ever celebrity client! Allan Havey, one of America’s comedy veterans, was finally realising his dream of doing a run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and chose Volpa to represent him. Allan received some high profile coverage, including articles in The Sun and The Drum, and interviews on two BBC Radio shows.

 A Step Up

After taking on the challenge of promoting a performer at the Fringe, we knew we’d have to come up with something big to ensure that Allan’s hilarious voice was heard above the noise. Luckily, our cunning head of publicity Fraser Kirk came up with a plan to use Allan’s character on Mad Men to promote the show. Together with The Leith Agency and Tanami, we produced a series of shorts showing Allan as Lou Avery, trying to negotiate a 21st century advertising business. The result was, well, mad!

Magic Kingdom

Excitement continued to rise in August over this year’s Enchanted Forest. This year’s show is inspired by the hidden beauty of the forest at night and is set to be one of the biggest events yet, with over 51,000 tickets already sold.

Rapid Expansion

Carling Property Group, Scotland’s largest independent residential landlords, are planning to rapidly expand their business by acquiring 5,000 homes “as quickly as possible”. The entrepreneur power couple is planning to take advantage of the market and buy up properties from landlords that have been squeezed by recent tax and regulatory changes in the private rented sector.

Kid’s Stuff

Excitement is also building over the commencement of the Brick City exhibition coming to Verdant Works Dundee this September. Sponsors have been announced and plans are underway to begin setting up the exhibition for it’s opening on the 8th.
